Penser à long terme

Conclusion

Anglia Ruskin University was awarded university status in 1992. Today, with a student population of 31,000, we are one of the largest universities in the East of England, and a large provider of part-time education.

Our students are on courses leading to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as to a range of professional qualifications. In addition to being one of the most significant suppliers of nurses and teachers to the professions, we offer an ever expanding range of contemporary courses designed to meet the needs of the individual and the requirements of a knowledge-based economy.

Our main campuses at Cambridge and Chelmsford attract students not only from the East of England but in increasing numbers from mainland Europe and from further afield. In addition, our University has an extensive network of contacts with institutions throughout the world, delivering courses in countries as far removed as Malaysia and Trinidad.

Why choose Anglia Ruskin?

We offer relevant and practical degrees
Our courses are designed to be not only relevant to the needs of industry and the professions, but also engaging and stimulating with the emphasis on the acquisition of practical skills.

• Our Department of Vision and Hearing Sciences has a long-established relationship with some of the UK’s largest retail opticians, including Specsavers, Boots and Vision Express, providing our students opportunities for work-based learning.
• Our Lord Ashcroft International Business School has developed a course with Barclays Bank Plc. On this course, which is also being offered more widely as a talent recruitment and staff development solution for other businesses, students are work-based, sponsored and salaried for all 3 years of their course.
• Our Biomedical Science course is accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science and out Forensic Science pathways have recently been accredited by The Forensic Science Society.

• Our MA Film and TV Production has established links with 4Rights, Channel 4 television’s commercial arm and talks and seminars are provided by members of Channel 4’s Commissioning and Business staff. Our students have the opportunity to pitch to 4Rights, Channel 4’s commercial arm, and 4Rights may make development funds available to students whose work justifies investment.
• Our Legal Practice Course was the first in the country to receive Skillsmark accreditation and was awarded a Grade 1 – the top award of 4 possible grades – consolidating our reputation as a provider of top quality, work-based learning. Skillsmark was established by Skills for Justice, the Sector Skills Council which covers all employers, employees and volunteers working in the UK justice system, as part of its mission to link learning to reputable and valued qualifications.
We’ve over 30,000 students, and are one of the largest universities in the East of England
• We supply many of the region’s teachers, nurses, midwives and social workers and are the largest provider of undergraduate courses in subjects allied to Medicine.
• We’re the largest undergraduate provider in the subject area of Architecture, Building and Planning.
• We’re the largest undergraduate provider for Mass Communication and Documentation.

Cambridge is a vibrant, student-friendly city packed with entertainment, art and history, set amongst beautiful surroundings and complemented by charming traditions. This compact city has a diverse culture with stunning architecture, world-renowned museums and galleries, plenty of green open spaces, and an array of shops including independent stores and well-known retailers.

Historical landmarks such as King’s College Chapel and Trinity College can be explored and most attractions are within walking distance. When it comes to sports and leisure, there are several sports centres, 3 cinemas and a number of theatres including Anglia Ruskin’s own Mumford Theatre.

Cambridge offers a bustling nightlife with trendy bars, nightclubs, and there are traditional pubs full of character. There’s also the Corn Exchange and The Junction that host various events including live music and comedy nights. A number of festivals are held throughout the year including the Film Festival and the famous Folk Festival. If you want to eat out, there’s an assortment of restaurants that cater for all tastes from Thai to Italian and Spanish to Chinese.

Cambridge is located in the east of England with central London just an hour by train, and there are good transport connections to all parts of the country. Cambridge has an extensive network of public transport in and around the city, and it is also well known for the large number of bicycles, and for many students this is an excellent, and economical method of transport.

We want you to be happy in every aspect of your life at our university, and that means finding a home from home which is friendly, comfortable and safe.
• In Cambridge, we have halls of residence on and off campus, and shared houses within two miles of campus that our university manages. We also offer halls that are managed by organisations we partner with, where you would live with other Anglia Ruskin students.
• In Chelmsford, we have the Student Village on campus, with flats of 3, 5 or 6 students. You’ll have your own room and share a kitchen, hallway and sometimes a bathroom (although most rooms are en-suite, with a shower and toilet).
• Nursing, midwifery and ODP students have the option to apply for NHS accommodation, close to the hospital where your course placement is
• In Peterborough, your options vary depending on whether you are studying a course that is eligible for hospital accommodation.
• University Centre Harlow students – Harlow College does not have on-campus accommodation, but students can apply to stay in the Student Village in Chelmsford (although please note there is no car parking there). The college offers help with finding private sector housing in Harlow.
• Private sector housing is the perfect choice for more independence while sharing a house with other students in a community setting, or for couples/families. After your first year you’ll almost certainly need to find accommodation off campus, in private sector housing. We provide plenty of help, including the Studentpad website, house hunting days and lists of accommodation agencies.
